The controversy surrounding the mishandling of classified records by President Biden and his administration continues to escalate as new evidence emerges.
National Security Council strategic communications coordinator John Kirby attempted to downplay the situation in a White House briefing on Wednesday, claiming that “everybody” knows the rules regarding the handling of classified documents.
However, Fox News’ Peter Doocy pressed Kirby on the severity of the situation, asking, “John, how hard is it to walk out of a SCIF [sensitive compartmented information facility] with classified material?”
Kirby’s response was nonchalant, stating that “everybody who goes in to a SCIF knows what the requirements are to go in and knows what the requirements are to go out.” He added that “you can’t bring personal devices in, and you certainly can’t leave with material unless that material is appropriately secured.”
But as Doocy pointed out, the question remains, what happens to someone in the chain of command if they do leave with a piece of classified material that they’re not supposed to have or that is not secured? Kirby’s response was that one should “self-report” and “make sure that you get the material back secured where it belongs and that you’re transparent about it.”
But this begs the question, where is the accountability for President Biden and his administration? If this were a Republican president, the mainstream media and Democrats would be calling for impeachment. But because it’s a Democrat, there’s a lack of accountability and responsibility.
This is just the latest example of the Biden Administration’s lack of transparency and disregard for national security protocols. The recent discovery of a third tranche of classified documents at Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, and a fourth found at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C, further highlights the President’s mishandling of classified information.
In contrast to the current administration, Republicans have always prioritized national security and have always been transparent with their handling of classified information.
It’s time for President Biden to take responsibility for his actions and for the mainstream media to hold him accountable for his mishandling of classified information.
The American people deserve to know the truth, and the safety of our nation is at stake.
