Biden Administration Under Fire: Republicans Refuse to Back Down in Quest for Information on Mishandled Classified Documents

It’s no surprise that Democrats are trying to sweep President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents under the rug. But Republicans, led by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, are not going to let them get away with it.

Comer recently condemned the National Archives for blowing off his request for information about the President’s handling of these sensitive documents. The National Archives Records Administration (NARA) missed the Jan. 24 deadline for providing the documents, a move Comer called “very disappointing.”

But it’s not just Comer who is disappointed. American taxpayers deserve to know the truth about how their President is handling classified information. The fact that NARA is stonewalling this investigation is a clear indication that they have something to hide.

It’s worth noting that former Vice President Mike Pence also recently found classified documents at his own home in Carmel, Indiana. But the difference is, Pence immediately turned over the documents to the DOJ and notified Congress about the incident. He is cooperating with the investigation and showing that he is willing to be fully transparent.

On the other hand, Biden’s White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has refused to answer questions about the documents. And while Attorney General Merrick Garland has named special counsels to investigate Trump and Biden, he has not announced an inquiry into Pence.

It’s clear that the Democrats are playing favorites and trying to protect their own. But Republicans will not back down in their pursuit of the truth.

The American people deserve to know what’s really going on with these classified documents and the potential mishandling by their President. It’s time for the Democrats to come clean and stop trying to hide the truth from the American people.
