Former President Donald Trump has criticized President Joe Biden’s response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, where Russian troops have invaded and taken control of parts of the country. During an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, Trump accused Biden of being “weak” and “ineffective” in his response to the crisis.
“Look at what’s happening in Ukraine right now,” Trump said. “It’s a disaster. And Biden is just sitting there, twiddling his thumbs. He’s weak. He’s ineffective.”
Trump’s comments come after Biden announced a series of sanctions against Russia in response to the invasion of Ukraine. The sanctions target the Russian economy and include restrictions on the purchase of Russian debt and the export of certain technologies to Russia.
“The United States is prepared to impose significant costs on Russia for this aggression,” Biden said in a statement announcing the sanctions.
