In recent weeks, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has removed far-left Reps. Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and Ilhan Omar from committees, causing a stir among Democrats.
However, Republicans are standing by McCarthy’s decision and are pushing for a bipartisan task force to establish a process to remove members from committees going forward.
Former CIA Director Mike Pompeo has accused Schiff of leaking classified information frequently, and he believes that Schiff should no longer have access to it.
Additionally, Schiff was hit with an ethics complaint over a campaign video he put together as he launched his bid for the U.S. Senate. The video features a clip of Schiff presenting his case on the U.S. Senate floor for then-President Donald Trump’s second impeachment, which is a violation of congressional rules.
