Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema recently criticized the Biden administration for their lack of action in addressing the border crisis. Sinema called attention to the administration’s failure to prepare for the expiration of the Title 42 mandate, which has the potential to exacerbate the situation further. Despite having the policy in place, the Biden administration has faced record levels of illegal border crossings since taking office in January 2021.
In an interview with CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Sinema discussed her proposed bill to continue a similar policy at the McCain Institute’s Sedona Forum. However, as the expiration date approaches, Sinema expressed her frustration with the White House’s inaction, stating that the administration had two years to prepare for this and did not do so.
Sinema also revealed that she contacted the White House directly about the matter, but their response “has not been adequate.” She criticized members of both parties for being disconnected from the problem for political reasons.
The Arizona senator’s criticism highlights the need for immediate action and preparation to address the border crisis. The lack of information and support from the federal government is concerning, and it’s time for the administration to take responsibility and work towards finding a solution to this problem.
