Republicans are demanding an investigation into claims made by Tara Reade, a former aide to then-Senator Joe Biden, who says she was sexually assaulted by him in 1993.
Despite Biden and his staff denying the allegations, Reade is persistent in her claims and says she is willing to testify under oath about what happened.
Both Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz are pushing for a formal probe into the matter, and Reade couldn’t be more grateful. “Silence from the Me Too Movement,” she tweeted. “Whatever the outcome, I am grateful to them.”
With Republicans now in control of the House, Reade is hopeful that justice will finally be served. She wants the conversation to happen and for other women who have been erased to be heard.
Republicans are committed to finding out the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be. It’s time for Democrats to put politics aside and do what’s right.
