President Biden’s recent refusal to negotiate with Republicans on the debt ceiling issue is a cause for concern. Republicans have proposed a budget plan to raise the debt ceiling by $1.5 trillion, but only in return for cuts to the IRS, the budget-busting green energy agenda, and unused COVID funding.
Biden’s name-calling and refusal to negotiate is not helpful to the situation and is putting the country at risk. Republicans are concerned about the potential consequences of a default and are urging Biden to work with them to find a solution that benefits everyone.
Leadership is about finding common ground and doing what’s best for the American people. It’s time for Biden to step up and show that he is willing to work with Republicans to find a solution. We cannot afford to let this issue go unresolved.
