In a recent interview with Meet the Press host Chuck Todd, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg tried to sell the American public on the supposed successes of the Biden Administration. However, the reality tells a much different story.
According to recent ABC News/Washington Post polls, four in ten Americans say they’ve gotten worse off financially since Joe Biden became President. Inflation peaked at a 40-year high of 9.1% last June and has only slightly decreased to 6.5% in December, causing widespread economic pain for many Americans.
Buttigieg’s spin on the situation is that it’s difficult to list the accomplishments of the Biden Administration in a distilled way. However, the truth is that many Americans are struggling under the weight of the Biden Border Crisis, Energy Crisis, Supply Chain Crisis, Afghanistan Debacle, and Bidenflation.
The polls show that nearly 60% of Democratic-aligned adults don’t want to see Biden nominated again, and half of Republicans would rather not see Donald Trump as their party’s nominee.
Despite Buttigieg’s attempt to spin the situation in favor of Biden, the polls suggest that a rerun of the 2020 Presidential election could be a close race. Among all adults, 48% support Donald Trump and 44% support Biden, with the differences being within the poll’s margin of sampling error.
The facts speak for themselves. The Biden Administration has failed to deliver meaningful change for the American people and has instead made life harder for tens of millions.
Despite the Transportation Secretary’s attempt to spin the situation in a positive light, the truth remains clear. The American people deserve better, and it’s time for a change in leadership.
