Radicals in Robes: The Truth About Biden’s Judicial Nominees

It’s time for Republicans to stand up and fight against the radical nominees put forward by President Biden. The Senate Judiciary Committee will reconsider several of these nominees that were previously deemed “extremists, partisans and radicals” by Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas. These nominees have records of approving lenient sentences for violent criminals and supporting left-wing causes.

Take Dale Ho for example, who has been renominated to be a judge on New York’s Southern District Court. Senator Cruz has stated that Ho’s record “reflects that same pattern of finding someone who has been an extreme partisan” and “a radical.”

Ho has worked for the ACLU and NAACP and has even “tweeted attacks” at multiple members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. How is someone like this supposed to be impartial in the courtroom?

Another nominee that has come under fire from Republicans is Rachel Bloomekatz, an Ohio public interest lawyer who was nominated last year to serve on the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Last August, Bloomekatz faced brutal questioning from Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo., for her defense of a 15-year-old who participated in the gang rape of a pregnant college student.

Bloomekatz argued all the way up to the Ohio Supreme Court that this criminal should be released early. How is someone like this supposed to uphold justice and protect victims?

Nusrat Jahan Choudhury, nominated to serve on a New York District Court, has spent the better part of her career as a high-ranking lawyer at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and once claimed that police kill unarmed Black men every day. This kind of rhetoric only serves to further divide our country and create mistrust in our legal system.

It’s time for Republicans to speak out against these radical nominees and fight for judges who will uphold the Constitution and protect the rights of all citizens, not just those who align with their political views.

The Democrats’ slim 51-49 majority may make it easier to confirm Biden’s nominees, but that doesn’t mean Republicans should roll over and let these extremists take the bench. It’s time to take a stand for what’s right.
