As we head into the 2024 presidential election cycle, it’s no surprise that the mainstream media is already gearing up to take down Republican candidates. And in a recent interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, CNN’s Andrea Mitchell proved just how far the media will go to push their agenda.
Mitchell’s interview with Harris was mostly softball questions, but there was one moment that got tense. When Mitchell asked Harris why President Biden is so unpopular and why Harris herself is even more unpopular than him, Harris gave a canned response about what she hears from people on the road.
But Mitchell didn’t let it go. She pressed Harris on why some Democratic leaders don’t think she’s the right person to be on the ticket in 2024, and whether Harris still wants to be president someday.
It’s no secret that the mainstream media has been pushing the narrative that Harris is unpopular and a liability to the Democratic ticket. But it’s worth remembering that this is the same media that gave Biden a pass on his numerous gaffes and missteps during the 2020 campaign.
Meanwhile, Mitchell’s dishonest question about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis shows just how far some in the media will go to push their agenda.
Mitchell falsely claimed that DeSantis said slavery and its aftermath should not be taught to Florida schoolchildren. In reality, DeSantis has said that Critical Race Theory and sexually explicit topics should not be taught to children.
But instead of correcting Mitchell’s lie, Harris went along with it, saying that DeSantis needs to learn about Black history and the Black experience. This kind of irresponsible reporting is not only dishonest, it’s also dangerous.
It’s clear that some in the media are willing to distort the truth to push their political agenda, even if it means smearing a good man like Ron DeSantis.
It’s up to us as passionate Republican voters to fight back against this kind of biased reporting. We need to call out the media when they distort the truth, and we need to support Republican candidates who are willing to stand up to the mainstream media’s lies.
Ron DeSantis is one of those candidates. As governor of Florida, he’s shown that he’s not afraid to take on the media when they distort the truth. He’s also been a strong leader for the state, standing up for individual liberty and pushing back against the overreach of the federal government.
As we head into the 2024 election cycle, it’s clear that the media is going to do everything they can to take down Republican candidates. But with strong leaders like Ron DeSantis, we can fight back and win.
We need to stand together as passionate Republican voters and support candidates who will stand up for what’s right, even when it’s not popular with the media.
