The Biden administration is at it again! It seems like they can’t go a day without twisting the truth or outright lying to the American people. This time, it’s about fossil fuel permits, and they are caught red-handed.
A group of Republican senators, led by Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., is pressing the Biden administration to explain why the number of unused fossil fuel permits has been falsely reported.
The lawmakers wrote a letter to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Director Tracy Stone-Manning, demanding more information about the error.
The administration previously claimed that there were around 9,000 approved but unused permits to drill, but the BLM quietly corrected the figure to less than 6,700 in late February.
The change wasn’t announced, and a BLM spokesperson said the figure was updated ” to account for a reporting discrepancy resulting from a transition to a new database in mid-2020.”
It’s outrageous that the Biden administration was able to use these false numbers to justify decreased oil and gas leasing, and worse still, they cited this figure over 20 times in 2021.
This administration has been gaslighting our domestic energy producers for the past two years, and now that the truth has come to light, they are quietly walking back their false statements, hoping no one will take notice.
But we must take notice, and we must hold this administration accountable for its deceitful behavior.
This administration is not only sabotaging our domestic energy industry, but they are also causing skyrocketing energy and inflation costs that are crippling hard-working Americans and their families.
This situation highlights the administration’s lack of understanding of the needs of the American people.
We need a government that works for us, not against us, and that includes supporting our domestic energy industry, which plays a critical role in our country’s economic prosperity.
The Biden administration’s continued efforts to impede the energy industry only serve to undermine our national security and economic stability.
It’s time for them to stop their anti-energy agenda and start working for the American people. This administration must be held accountable for its actions, and the Republican senators are doing just that.
They are asking a series of pointed questions about how the discrepancy occurred and how it was corrected, and they are demanding that BLM ensures that the energy industry and the American public will not be misled again.
In conclusion, the Biden administration’s actions regarding the number of unused fossil fuel permits are another example of their deceitful behavior towards the American people.
We need a government that works for us, not against us, and we need to hold our elected officials accountable for their actions.
The Republican senators’ letter is a step in the right direction, and we must continue to fight for our energy industry and economic stability.
