As conservatives, we have long known that the Democrats will stop at nothing to push their radical agenda, even if it means suppressing free speech and manipulating social media platforms. The latest revelation from The Free Press, known as the Twitter Files, only confirms our worst suspicions.
According to independent writer David Zweig, both the Trump and Biden administrations pressured Twitter and other social media companies to “moderate the platform’s pandemic content according to their wishes.”
In fact, when President Biden took office, his staff “focused on vaccines and high profile anti-vaxxer accounts” and pressured Twitter to “do more” and “de-platform several accounts.”
As a result, Twitter “suppressed views—many from doctors and scientific experts—that conflicted with the official positions of the White House.” In other words, the Democrats wanted to silence any opposing viewpoints, even if they were based on factual evidence. This is a clear violation of the First Amendment and a blatant attempt to control the narrative.
But it’s not just the Democrats who are guilty of this kind of censorship. The Twitter Files also revealed that the Trump administration, through then-White House Chief Technology Officer Michael Kratsios, pressured the tech giants to combat misinformation about Covid-19. Companies like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft participated in “weekly” calls with the Trump administration to discuss “general trends” on their platforms.
We cannot allow either party to abuse their power and undermine our freedom of speech. As conservatives, it is our duty to speak out against this kind of censorship and hold the Democrats accountable for their actions. We must also hold the Trump administration accountable for any instances of censorship during their time in office.
It’s no secret that the Democrats will do whatever it takes to win, and that includes silencing opposing voices. As we approach the 2024 election, it’s more important than ever to stand up for our values and defend the First Amendment.
We cannot let the Democrats succeed in their efforts to control the narrative and suppress free speech. So, let’s be vigilant and fight for our freedoms.
