A MESSAGE CNN Can’t Hide

CNN, once considered the leading liberal news channel, is now experiencing a massive decline in viewership, which could potentially make it the network’s historic low.

The channel has recently lost grip of one key demographic that it previously relied on for a large portion of their views. The network’s intentional reliance on attacking former President Donald J. Trump for years is no longer a viable strategy.

CNN faced fierce backlash for misogynistic comments made by former morning show host Don Lemon, who was removed from his post during that news segment.

Lemon’s comments regarding “women in their prime” in reference to Presidential candidate Nikki Haley may have been the final straw for a large portion of their audience who seems to have tuned out.

By the end of February, CNN is slated to report its smallest audience in the 25-to-54 demographic since June of 2014, a year when Donald Trump was just breaking into the Presidential run arena.

CNN’s ratings are so low that it now faces the possibility of being surpassed by its own spinoff, HLN.

Under CNN boss Chris Licht, the network has slumped and the Don Lemon-led CNN This Morning is set to end February with its lowest 25-to-54 age viewership since the show launched in November, after Lemon was ousted from his former primetime slot. In the first 24 days of February, the morning show averaged 361,000 total viewers.

CNN’s former morning program, New Day, garnered an average of 430,000 viewers per day. The new show, hosted by Lemon, Poppy Harlow, and Kaitlan Collins, averaged 16 percent lower than the older show, which was canceled due to low ratings.

While other shows may also be seeing a strong decline in ratings, it’s clear that Don Lemon’s comments did a whopping amount of damage to the news channel.

Fox News is also reporting CNN’s failing numbers, claiming Don Lemon’s failing viewership is just one of many. Anderson Cooper 360, The Lead with Jake Tapper, and Wolf Blitzer’s Situation Room are on pace to their smallest audiences since that same month among the critical demo, while Inside Politics is on pace for its least-viewed month among the category since August 2005.

It’s evident that CNN’s ratings have plummeted, and the network has lost the confidence of its once loyal viewers.

With a biased agenda that attacks conservative values, it’s no surprise that passionate Republican voters have tuned out from the liberal network.
